The Nebraska Business Development Center (NBDC) along with the Omaha Economic Development Corporation (OEDC), will be hosting the second annual Minority Small Business Summit (MSBS) aimed at supporting minority owned and operated businesses in Nebraska. Omaha West Rotary is supporting this project with both hands-on volunteers for judging, etc. and by providing prize money to the winners from our Charitable Foundation.

In Memoriam

We mourn the loss of long-time member, Russ Iwan. Russ was a member of our club for 20 years until he resigned last year due to health concerns. Visitation will take place at Heafey Hoffman Dworak and Cutler on Center, Monday, June 20th at 5pm with a rosary at 6:30. The funeral will be Tuesday, the 21st at St. Columbkille (200 E. 6th- Papillion) at 10 am with a luncheon to follow.

Welcome Eric Johnson!

Last week Mark Ellsworth introduced us to new member Eric Johnson. Eric got his college degree in art, but since making chalk drawings on pavement didn't pay many bills he got into technology and web development and eventually headed down the entrepreneur route of owning his own business. Eric now has 5 vape stores, several Scooters coffee locations under development, along with an iOS and Android app, and a web development firm. Eric has two kids aged 16 and 18, with the older one heading to Stanford in the fall. For fun he likes to avoid people (except Rotarians! ha ha).
