Secretary Nick Rosenberry Report

Omaha West Rotary Club Secretary Report for February 8, 2019:

This past Friday, we had one visiting Rotarian - John Massih, who has moved to Omaha from the Trumbull Rotary Club in CT.  John has put in an application to join our club!  We also had a couple of guests courtesy of Starla Waite.  Starla invited Lisa Kennedy and Lily Pat Izu.

For good news, Bob Kully said that his youngest son will play a key role in a soon to be presidential candidate.  Stay tuned for who the candidate is.  Martie Cordaro visited New York to visit his son and to attend an award ceremony where the Owner of the Storm Chasers won the Thurman Munson Award.  Russ Iwan visited his daughter and grand daughter in Seattle.  Kim Kuhle recently sent off her business plan to investors for a real estate development focused on military veterans.  Mark Manhart wanted to thank everyone who has helped with the Little Free Libraries.  News about future work sessions will be coming.  And finally, Mike Shrier joined Nizar Mamdami at a Rotary club meeting in Naples, FL.

Nick ended with a joke and wished everyone a good week.

Meal Packaging Project
Thanks to all the Rotarians and guests who helped with the meal packaging last weekend. A special thanks to Brett Wawers for organizing.  This project packaged 24K meals from donations from West, Suburban, and a matching District grant.   More photos will be on Facebook.

Little Library Progress
Thanks to all those who helped with the Little Library building at Mark Manhart's a couple of weeks ago. We continue to work on this project with a combined District Grant and West Rotary Foundation funds.
100%ers
Congratulations to Rodge Bickerstaff who was recognized for 11 years of perfect attendance two weeks ago by John Philo.

Officer Elections
Congratulations to the following who were elected at last week's meeting: The three nominees for Board of Directors are Tim Neal, Andy Shim, and Luke McNeese. President-Nominee is Dwayne Brown
February is Peace & Conflict Resolution Month
February is Peace and Conflict Resolution Month for Rotary International and Rotarians, led by Carl Greiner and Kim Kuhle, will gather to discuss Lincoln's Second Inaugural address.  This will be a chance for everyone to share their views and values as well as fellowship.   Everyone is invited to participate.  The copies of the inaugural address will be provided, but each Rotarian pays for their own meal. Register now, CLICK/TAP HERE. Questions, please contact Carl Greiner or Kim Kuhle.
