Upcoming Event, Anti-Human Trafficking Hotel/Motel Project
The Omaha West Rotary is participating in a multi-club project called Hotel/Motel Project, which seeks to eliminate and prevent sex trafficking by educating those in the hospitality industry to realize it is happening and training them on how to respond. Our club Foundation has approved up to $3,000 to support the project. This project is now underway and we need your support. An opportunity awaits you as Presenter. A Presenter training has been scheduled for August 15, 2018, Wednesday, 6:30 PM at the Hilton Omaha at 1001 Cass Street.  Parking passes will be provided. You have the option to attend in person or virtually. Please RSVP to Jennifer at jennifer@suburbanrotary.org.  Additionally, the Hotel/Motel Training sessions have been scheduled for September and October and you can sign up here. Thank you to Bob Kully who is serving as our Club Representative in this multi-club project. Read more here.

Secretary Nick Rosenberry Report

Omaha West Rotary Club Secretary Report for August 10, 2018:

This past Friday, we had a visiting Rotarian from the Suburban club, Howard Epstein.  Lori Benton invited Deb Shaw.  Jill Slupe invited Maggie Lehning.  Michelle Schrage invited Brian Radermacher Deb Neary invited Mike Hughes.  Rich Secor was accompanied by his wife Sharon (although she was mostly there for the waffles).  And finally, Dwayne Brown brought his favorite, youngest daughter, Marissa.

We had several red badge members in attendance.  We also had our club board members stand so that everyone is aware of who they are and so that they could be recognized.

For good news: John Morey reclaimed his house from several house guests.  Russ Iwan attended a successful bachelor party filled with golf and casinos for his future son-in-law.  His daughter also had a bachelorette party in Okaboji.  And Deb Sepich became a resident of Omaha with the recent purchase of a house.

Ric Miller will be reaching out to those members who have yet to purchase raffle tickets for the golf tournament.

Nick closed with lawyer joke.  Matt McKeever was offended.
