Matt McKeever Secretary Report
Omaha West Rotary Club Secretary Report for June 22, 2018.

Rotarians from other clubs visiting us today included Phil Schreier from Omaha Northwest and Bob Ford from Omaha Morning.  Thanks for joining us, gentlemen.

Guests of Rotarians included TJ Dibaco, a guest of Kim Kuhle, and Lindsay Toussant, a guest of Martie Cordero.  Randy Parks, a former member of our club, who was visiting us today.  For the fourteenth time in the last fifteen meetings, Gail Veitzer introduced her husband, Irv Veitzer.   Gail said that Irv would be applying for membership with the club.  Matt remarked that Irv might qualify for a perfect attendance pin before he even became a member.

Red Badge members stood and introduced themselves.  Red Badge members are the newest members of our club.  If you have the opportunity, make sure you introduce yourself to each Red Badge member if you have not already done so.

Tara Bowne shared the good news that her little one made it through all two hours of the Omaha West Rotary tour of the Henry Doorly Zoo last Saturday.  Matt McKeever shared the good news about his 30th High School Reunion.  Bob Kully shared the good news of his anniversary of meeting Nuzhat Mahmood and their friendship that caused him to join our club.

No one got Matt fined for any Bitcoin articles this week.  Matt fined Martie Cordero for an Omaha World Herald Article about the Celebration for the 50th Season for Omaha Storm Chasers.

Matt then remembered that Rich Secor had a guest.  Rich Secor introduced his guest, McCarnac the Magnificent, who visited our club twice before.  Following a gracious introduction from Rich, McCarnac then divined the answers to three questions contained in sealed envelopes.  Upon Rich’s presentation of the final envelope to McCarnac, the club assembly cheered, causing McCarnac to issue the following Old Irish Curse upon the club members:  “May a toothless leprechaun gum all of your children’s potato chips.”  McCarnac divined the answer to the question contained in the last envelope to be: “When he finally gets caught red-handed.”  Upon opening the final envelope, McCarnac revealed the question to be:  “When will Matt McKeever’s term as Club Secretary finally be over?

Fun at Henry Doorly Zoo
Last Saturday, Rotarians and their families, a group of 29, had fun at the zoo on a blistering 98 degree day. The Henry Doorly Zoo, the number one rated zoo in the world, provided a tour guide that brought the group to the African safari, the giraffe den, the elephant yard, and culminated at the new Asian highlands. Thank you to Kim Kuhle for organizing the zoo outing.
