Welcome Scott Hahn!
Last week Ken Thomason introduced us to new member Scott Hahn.

Scott Hahn is a life long Omahan. Born an only child to a second grade school teacher, he spent the majority of his childhood making friends wherever he went, growing up in the Center Apartments right next to the Center Mall – yes, it was an actual mall at one point! Some of his most cherished childhood memories include his first plane trip when he was 9 to Buffalo, NY to visit a great uncle and family he never knew he had, walking nearly everywhere with his late grandpa and uncle around Omaha and being asked to read billboards to them in exchange for a that-a-boy, and going pheasant-hunting with his father and uncle in small Nebraska towns with names like Friend, Geneva, Exeter, and Coleridge.

Scott loves the process of learning and growing, adapting and changing with the times he is in to be the person he needs to be for others. He has learned, sometimes painfully, to say yes more than no to new opportunities and challenges, including getting ready for his first skydive this fall and becoming an in-home caregiver to his dad. Like all of us he is a work-in-progress, and recently unearthed the teachings and principles of Stoic Philosophy, from historical figures such as Marcus Aurelius, Seneca, and Epictetus for practical learnings he can use daily to live his best life.

Today, Scott finds himself as an attorney with the law firm of Koenig Dunne, PC, LLO in Omaha, Nebraska. His interest in helping survivors of domestic violence/sexual assault as an attorney led him to focus on Family Law during most of his nearly fifteen years in practice. He brings that experience to his advocacy for clients as an attorney at Koenig Dunne, where he continues to specializes in domestic relations and related matters. Scott is a former member of the Rotary Club of Omaha Suburban, new member of West Omaha Rotary, involved in Robert M. Spire Inns of Court, Sons of Italy. Optimists International, and serves as Interim Chair on the Mayor’s Human Rights and Relations Board.

Scott loves movies and the arts, and if you catch him in the right mood he can do a pretty good impression of almost anyone you ask, including you. In his spare time, he loves running, reading books by authors like Grisham, Patterson, and the Stoics, and working on his house and yard. Scott believes that it is the totality of our actions, good and bad, that define and bring us lasting joy. And, it’s really not as much about what you do in life, but who you’re doing it with that matters. He is very excited to be doing Rotary again with all of you.

Welcome, Scott!
