With a background in pediatric nursing, I have seen firsthand what a child and their family goes through when diagnosed with a life-threatening condition. This became a reality for our family when our niece Gabby was diagnosed with cancer at age 5. Her determination and kind, giving spirit spilled over into her wish to bring a Bag of Fun to every child fighting a battle. It is our wish to bring Bags of Fun to the Omaha area and continue spreading the joy and love that Gabby would have wanted. It is in her spirit that we bring happiness wrapped up in a backpack to those children going through a really tough time in a world where just being a kid and playing is their job! It is with great honor that we are able to bring this foundation to the Omaha area and are extremely grateful for the opportunity to provide joy to children living with a life-threatening illness.

The Community Service Committee presents Omaha West Rotary members and friends another outdoor cleanup activity: the TriFaith Initiative is celebrating its 20th year anniversary on August 30th, 2026. Over time, invasive and ‘junk’ trees have taken over areas that were meant for other plants. Some of these have been cut down and there are brush piles around the inner walkway known as Abraham’s Bridge. We are planning a clean-up day at TriFaith on August 15, which is a Saturday, 1 to 3 pm. After we move the piles to the parking lots, we have someone come to chip the brush. The chipped brush will then be distributed appropriately. REGISTER HERE!
the Ride is an opportunity for you to engage your members in support of Rotary's most significant International project. We need your help to get members and riders engaged. This event is open to the general public, families, and Rotarians. It features:
Family friendly 10 and 25 mile rides (all on trails)
A 42 mile ride for people looking for a little more challenge
Bike clinics hosted by the Bellevue Bicycle Club
Food trucks
Riders get a quality t-shirt, an entry into a raffle to win a $500 gift certificate to a local bike ship, and the registration includes a PolioPlus donation.

Family Friendly ride – all on trails - climbs are just going under bridges. None of the climbs coming back up from under the bridges are more than 15 to 18 feet. The ride goes from Twin Creek to Q Street on the Keystone Trail and comes back through Seymour Smith Park. There will be rest stops at Harrison and Q Street

25 Mile Ride
Family Friendly. Only climbing is due to underpasses for highways two minor climbs. The middle 8 miles of the ride is completely flat. There will be a rest stop at Haworth Park, which is the halfway point.

44 Mile Ride
The route has two legs: Outbound for a lap around Walnut Creek Lake, then out to Haworth Park. The majority of this rides 800 feet of climbs happens in route to Walnut Creek (about 600 feet of the total).

Charlie's on the Lake
The ride will be held on August 29, 2026. The ride will start at the Marcus Twin Creek north parking lot and feature 10, 25, and 44 mile rides. 
Where: Will start at the Twin Creeks Cinema Parking lot. The 10, 25, and 44 mile rides will be all on trails.
