Last week, Past President Jill Slupe and Nick Rosenberry presided over the meeting. Russ Iwan gave the Invocation and  Bruce Cramer served as Cashier.  Dan Lassek was Sgt. at Arms.  Dwayne Brown and Maryssa Brown served as greeters. We had several announcements as well as a vocational talk by Mike Morey.  Kendall Scheer introduced Jim Reiff who talked about the Nebraska Enterprise Fund and the opportunities they've given to small businesses in their first 25 years.

Secretary Nick Rosenberry Report

Omaha West Rotary Club Secretary Report for February 22, 2019:

This past Friday, we had two visiting Rotarian - John Massih, who should be a new member soon!  And Chuck Sederstrom from Northwest.  We also had a few guests.  Kim Kuhle brought Gabriel Ruiz.  Rodge Bickerstafff brought his wife Katherine.  And Starla Waite invited Rebecca Kennedy.

For good news, all of the donations went into the Dick “the head turner” Lerner lock box.  Dick must have a secret admirer because we had an anonymous donor for last week’s naming rights.

We started with some not good news.  Lori Benton’s mother passed away recently.  Also, Bob Ames seems to be in bad health.  Please reach out to both members.

In good news, Luke McNeese’s child has a new phrase of the week, “wuv you”.  Dick Lerner’s son is opening an office in India.  And Kim Kuhle said that she recently spoke with Nizar Mamdani.  He is still in physical therapy but says hi to all.

Nick ended with a joke and wished everyone a good week.

Little Library Progress

Sign up yourself - you will be a more effective leader for your Rotary Club.

Rotary Leadership Institute is a facilitated program with active participation - no lecturing. Topics important to Rotary Clubs and Members such as Effective Service Projects, Membership Engagement, and understanding The Rotary Foundation are explored. You will discuss real challenges and exchange ideas.

Testimonial from a recent participant: RLI was a great opportunity to explore Rotary - really learn about this vast organization. This is the first time I truly understood that Rotary was not just about my Club - it extends beyond to other communities, states and the world. I feel that I can truly help my club with programs now that I have participated in RLI.
