THIS WEEK AT ROTARY
March 24, 2017
Club Assembly
"Club Vision Progress & Future Plans"

CLUB VISION PLAN -Please review the plan below and come with your ideas about the current progress and future plans.

We are a club offering Fellowship and Fun for 150 “Actively Involve” members.  We are a welcoming club providing thorough and on-going new member orientation. We are known for our outstanding programs and service projects that are creating positive media coverage several times a year. The club members have opportunities to network with fellow members with high impact meetings even social events at our member’s businesses. Our club provides timely communications to our members utilizing many forms of communications, no matter if you want email, social networks or smoke signals…you are included.

We recognize we must spread the message of Rotary and create long term relationships by supporting the international exchange of students and embracing RYLA.

Our club fully leverages the opportunity for funding from District and International grants by having 1-2 large impact annual projects involving partners when appropriate. We realize we need funding for this good work that we do and we have inclusive fundraising events such as a mega tasting event with beer, wine, and whiskey. Our club has a priority to our community by supporting local issues. We also assure we can have a worthwhile impact with the donations to the Rotary International Foundation and are proud that every member donates every year with an understanding that 50% of that comes back to our district through grants. We fully communicate the good work we are doing with meetings focused on our projects with full disclosure of our finances, activities and impact.

OMAHA GIVES on May 24th!

The West Omaha Rotary Foundation is participating in Omaha Gives -  a 24 hour charitable challenge organized by the Omaha Community Foundation. We will be joining over 700 local nonprofits to raise money together and compete for matching funds and prize money. The more money we raise, the larger percentage of the bonus dollars we will receive. The more donors we get to give to us, the more likely we are to win prizes. The online giving will take place May 24th from midnight to midnight.  Your donations collectively can result in additional matching or prize funds for our club foundation. Donations will support our programs at the Skinner Magnet Center, Skinner Skyhawk Awards, Mitten Tree Project, Senior Recognition Day, Dora Bingel Senior Center, Rotary Youth Leadership programs, Police and Fire recognition programs and other local educational, health and humanitarian projects and programs.

Click here to donate to the West Omaha Rotary Foundation by participating in Omaha Gives!  This year you can schedule your donation starting May 1st or donate on May 24th to increase our chances for additional funds from bonus prizes.

All donations are accepted online-only through OmahaGives.org.
Minimum giving is $10
.  Your dollars will help fund the club projects.

POLIO ERADICATION – We are asking you to donate $32 during the month your birthday is recognized.  The District has set $32 per person as a giving goal for PolioPlus.  Your donation will be given to The Rotary Foundation in your name for PolioPlus.  Rotary has led the private sector in the global effort to rid the world of polio for over 30 years. The PolioPlus program helps Rotary fund operational costs, such as transportation, vaccine delivery, social mobilization, and training of health workers, and support surveillance activities.  Your donation can help "End Polio Now."

Please say yes when asked to schedule your vocational talk.  We look forward to learning more about our fellow Rotarians.
