The 2017 Rotary Youth Leadership Award (RYLA) Seminar will be held April 7-9, 2017 at Camp Kitaki near Louisville NE.  High school juniors (and sophomores) are eligible to apply. RYLA camp is an intensive 3-day training program for high school juniors that helps participants think critically about important issues and share ideas with talented peers, learn how to coordinate and lead community service projects both locally and globally, discuss the importance of good governance and civil society to the world, business ethics, and finally, learn to think globally and explore issues that transcend national and cultural boundaries.

For young adults, RYLA enables participants to debate issues of professional responsibility and human relations, improve leadership and communications skills, learn about businesses and institutions, and meet Rotarians while having fun and making friends. In addition, RYLA provides participants the opportunity to refine skills and explore pertinent topics with their peers and business professionals. The RYLA experience prepares young people to be leaders in their community, profession, and other facets of everyday life.

Club members, please let us know if you know a sophomore or junior in high school that would be interested in attending this seminar. (Relatives of Rotarians are welcome to participate.) Contact the Rotary office for an application or visit the Rotary District 5650 website at http://rotarydistrict5650.org/SitePage/ryla for the applications forms and additional information.
